Setting Limits

NOTE:  Limits can only be set if no process model has been constructed yet, or if the process model has been removed from the project.  If limits are disabled, first remove the model by clicking the Remove Model button from the Visualization view.

Field limits can either be entered manually or set visually using histograms.

Manually entering Limits

  1. Access the Visualization view from the project bar in the Troubleshooter.

  2. Click on the high, low, high high or low low cell next to the desired field.

  3. Enter the value for the related limit.

Setting limits visually

Limits can also be set visually with the help of histograms.  To set limits using histograms:

  1. Access the Visualization view from the project bar in the Troubleshooter.

  2. Click the Histogram icon next to the desired field. A Histogram is displayed for the selected field.

  3. On the Histogram, using your mouse to click-and-drag the yellow and green vertical lines, set the four limits accordingly:

    • High and Low limits are displayed on the histogram as green vertical lines.

    • High High and Low Low limits are displayed on the histogram as yellow vertical lines.
